Why he is significant: Andujar was an outstanding pitcher with both the Astros and the Cardinals in the 1970s and 1980s. He was a four time All Star, a back-to-back twenty game winner, and a key factor in two Cardinal pennant winners. Andujar (a native of the Dominican Republic) liked to refer to himself as "one tough Dominican", and was indeed a tough competitor and one of the most feared pitchers in the National League during his tenure.
