Player notes: Burleson was a fine defensive shortstop with a strong throwing arm, who also provided good production as a leadoff hitter. He was a four-time All Star, and won one Golden Glove (in 1979). He missed most of the 1984 season and all of 1985 with a rotator cuff injury before earning Comeback Player of the Year honors in 1986 with the Angels. However, he played only one year after that, retiring after the 1987 season.
