Player notes : Bob Feller was the greatest power pitcher of his generation, and is justifiably thought by some as the greatest pitcher of all time. He was a "phenom" who lived up to his promise. He was in the major leagues at age 17, and even though he lost four prime years to military service in World War II, he pitched in 18 different seasons. He won 226 games, and amassed 2,581 strikeouts.

Although he only played in one World Series (and lost both his decisions), he was an eight time All Star and one of the most feared pitchers of all time.
