diamondfans.com notes: Paskert was a first rate
defensive centerfielder and baserunner during his career
with the Reds, Phillies and Cubs. His was widely admired
for his defensive skills, and a solid leadoff hitter.
He stole 293 bases during his 15 year career, and once,
while playing for the Reds, stole three bases in the
first inning in a game against the Boston Braves.
Paskert played in two World Series, in 1915 with the
Phillies and in 1918 with the Cubs. his team lost both
times to the Red Sox, and Paskert did not distinguish
himself in either series. Still, he was a fine player
who contributed greatly to his team's success.
